How To Run a Business from Your Phone

Share this:

A lot of people run their businesses from their computers. But is there a way to do it from your phone?

It turns out that there is. But what should you be doing to make your life as easy as possible?

Choose the Right Apps

The first thing you’ll want to do is ensure that you have the right apps installed on your phone. These can massively boost your productivity and ensure that you can do just as much on your device as you can on your computer.

For example, for communication, you might want to use Slack or WhatsApp. Meanwhile, for project management, a lot of the big vendors still have mobile options, like Asana or Trello.

You even have options when it comes to your accounting, like Wave or Quickbooks. Both these platforms cater well to people who want to be constantly on the go and don’t want to stop or slow down during the day,

Set Up a Professional Presence

Of course, if you’re going to get people interested in your business, you’re going to have to set up a professional presence online that’s accessible on mobile devices. Thanks to social media, these sorts of things are very easy these days, meaning that it doesn’t take much to maintain an active social presence.

If you want to prioritize professional communication, it’s also a good idea to use the regular tools that many people in business use. For example, you could explore options like Zoho Mail. Being able to add your domain name to the end of the email makes you appear more professional and increases the likelihood that future customers will trust you.

Streamline

If you can streamline what you’re doing while you’re on mobile that’s even better. For example, you could introduce integrations with tools like Zapier if you have technical skills, or IFTTT, depending on your coding setup.

You could also use Google Calendar to arrange things like appointments and your to-do list. These tools can even sometimes take payments, which makes it incredibly easier to do all of that in the background.

Set Up Your Contract for Data

When you buy SIM card plans, make sure you choose one that comes with plenty of data. You’d be surprised by just how much you use when you’re constantly on the phone all the time.

Fortunately, you don’t have to lock yourself into any contracts these days to get all of that. Instead, you can simply pay by the month, using the services that you want, without a massive overhead, which is a big bonus for anyone wanting to set up a lean business.

Manage Your Finances

Lastly, make sure you manage your finances properly. Ensure that you’re doing things like tracking income and expenses so you can see where you are in terms of your balance sheet, and save on taxes.

If you want to accept payments, use Stripe, PayPal, and Square. These services are pretty easy to integrate and they make life easier for your customers.
