A Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) is a visa application that was first announced on March 19, 2019. It took over the role of the DHA-abolished Temporary Work visa subclass 457. Sometimes known as the “tss visa,” a work permit enables an Australian firm to support someone from another country and work for them in Australian cities.
One might well be considered for the TSS visa if you have the qualifications to match a work opportunity with an Australian firm that is actively recruiting.
The TSS Visa Is Divided into 3 Categories:
- The stream of the short-term
- The stream for the medium-term
- Stream of the Labour Agreement

The Application Process
There are some stages of the application so that the employers can lead to a healthy conclusion.
- Corporate Sponsorship –Β A corporation must first be a Standard Business Sponsor before recruiting or appointing a holder. A Standard Business Sponsorship deal requires legal and operational action in Australia. This includes determining the proper ABN to use, registering the trademark, reporting BAS and financial information, and demonstrating a commitment to educating Australian citizens and adhering to an organization’s and maybe other Australian rules.
- Nomination –Β An employer must identify a job inside their organization as one that must be filled by a foreign national after submitting an SBS application.
- Putting the Labor Market to the Test –Β Before proposing a visa, a company must show how it investigated the labour market. Part of the labour market evaluation process is determining whether or not the company was advertised correctly for the specific role. Documentation will be required for a portion of the training, and the factual requirements are highly stringent.
- Salary Scale –Β The compensation for the recommended job must meet two criteria. Firstly, the pay scale must be larger than the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT). The requested salary must then be competitive for the role. This ensures that the recruit will be appropriately rewarded compared to similar positions held by Australian peers.
- Levy for Education –Β During the proposal process, the visa comes with a one-of-a-kind Skilling Australians Fund (SAF) levy that must be paid. The SAF tax will considerably raise hiring new employees for a business.
The DHA may take several days to take a conclusion on your visa request. The TSS visa takes Eleven to Eighteen days to complete.
The chosen one will acquire the visa and begin working in Australia after the application is granted.
