5 Ways to Wow Potential Clients

Share this:

Meeting a potential client to discuss forming a new working relationship is exciting and daunting in equal measure.

If you want to tip the balance and make it much less daunting than it currently is, you need some tricks that will help you wow those potential new clients in an instant, and the good news is, we have assembled some of the best ways to do just that right below.

1.  Do Your Homework

It’s always a good idea to go into any meeting knowing who you are dealing with. So, do a little digging and find out as much as you can about the potential client and who they are. Of course, you don’t want to make them feel uncomfortable by revealing you know everything there is to know about them, so ensure you show enough knowledge to impress, but not so much that they start thinking about restraining orders!

2.  Ensure Your Office Space Looks Good

If you are going to be meeting them at your office, then you need to ensure you make the right first impression. That means office cleaning is a must. If you have time to do a little decorating too, then that will really help. The more presentable, and the more on-brand your office is, the better the first impression of your business will be – it really is that simple.

3.  Dress to Impress

It’s an obvious point, but before you head out to meet that potential new client, make sure that your clothes are clean, presentable and the right level of professionalism for your sector and the person you are meeting. If you can’t even bother to dress for the occasion, the client will be wondering what else you can’t be bothered to do and it will not reflect well on your company.

4.  Have a Plan

It’s good to be able to do things off the cuff, and you should absolutely not be too rigid when you meet your potential new client, but having a plan is a must. Drawing up a rough agenda of how you want the day to go and what you want to discuss will help to keep you on track and ensure you do not forget any important points. It will also stop the meeting from feeling too unprepared, which can turn many potential clients off. Again, you need to show you’ve put the effort in, but also you need to balance that by not going too overboard. It’s always a delicate balance.

5.  Be Confident

If you have prepared, you should have no trouble in presenting yourself as a confident person who knows what they are talking about and feels like they can add value to the client. This is essential because a lack of confidence can put doubt into a potential client’s mind about how effective you really are.

Wowing new clients is so important because business has never been more competitive than it is right now, and every new client is a positive for your business, so be sure to incorporate as many of these techniques into your company as you can.
