Top Industries Where Women Are Dominating

Share this:

Women are a force to be reckoned with in a growing number of industries, including sectors that have historically been dominated by men. When we say that there’s no job a woman can’t do, we mean it. Here’s a look at some of the industries in which women are running more businesses. Perhaps it’s time for a career change!

The Beauty Industry

It almost goes without saying that women dominate the beauty industry. However, that hasn’t always been the case. Plenty of men try their hand at cosmetics, hair care, and skin care. All the same, you could argue that women have a better understanding of what women want from their beauty products. Women know how important it is to find a foundation that matches their skin tone. They understand that every woman is different when it comes to what she needs for her hair and skin.

For that reason, the niche beauty industry, in particular, is once more being dominated by women entrepreneurs and beauty gurus. They’re coming up with better makeup options, quality hair care, and the extras that we all desire, such as top-of-the-line eyelashes and cosmetics designed to meet the needs of every skin type and color.

The World of Web Design

Web design has long been dominated by men, but that’s changing fast. As of 2019, women made up over half of the industry. That number continues to grow. Web design is not only a lucrative field, but it’s also creative, which is appealing to many women. It’s not going anywhere, either, as businesses and companies understand the need to create an engaging, recognizable web presence. The addition of women in the industry offers a different perspective, which is both refreshing and necessary.

Surrogacy and Family Planning

The landscape of family planning has changed and evolved to include alternative ways to begin a family. Egg donorship, surrogacy, and sperm donation make up a sizable part of the family planning industry, and women are at the forefront. By its very nature, this industry depends on compassion, empathy, and understanding, which are characteristics more common in women. Women have a special understanding of everything that goes into family planning. It makes sense that they lead the pack in an industry that strives to help women and men build their families.

The Health Sector

Although many people stereotypically assume that men should be doctors, women have long dominated the healthcare industry. All over the world, they make up more than half of the workforce not just in health care positions but also in social services. Women comprise an astounding 80 percent of the healthcare industry in the United States, and 90 percent of all registered nurses are women. They unequivocally dominate as caregivers and nurses, jobs that have historically gone to women due to their empathetic qualities.

The Education Industry

Women still run the education world. They make up the majority of teachers and teaching aides. Not only that, but they’re branching out into the digital sector of education in an attempt to improve the way that students learn. They want to extend the access that students have to learning materials, and they want to make those resources more affordable. From textbook publishing to learning apps, women are in the forefront of fixing an education system that’s long been broken.

These are only a few of the industries that are seeing a surge of women. There are plenty of others. Have you seen women dominating any industries? Let us know about your experiences.
